Your Guide to Eligibility, Submission & Excellence

Who Can Participate?

Junior Division

Ages 10 – 14

Perfect for young innovators starting their journey.

Senior Division

Ages 15 – 19

For advanced students ready to present professional research.

Team Structure

Individual or teams of up to 3.
Performance Art category allows up to 7.

Supervision

Every group needs 1 Supervisor (Age 20+).
Max 6 students per supervisor.

Student

One category per student/project only.

English Only

Official language is English. Participants must answer judging questions in simple English.

UN SDG Alignment

Projects must align with UN SDGs.
(Exceptions: STEM Lessons & Lego/Robotics)

Original Work

Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

London Face-to-Face Requirements

Participants traveling to London for the 6-night , 7-day program must adhere to exhibition regulations.

Exhibition Day: Students present projects and participate in a live Q&A with judges.

Display Board: Max size: 91cm (H) x 122cm (W). Includes all models/kits.

Conduct: Mandatory attendance at Opening Ceremony (Oxford) and all London excursions.

STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN HALL

  • Live animals / Microbes
  • Hazardous chemicals / Water
  • Open flames / Matches
  • Sharp items (needles/knives)
  • Human or animal food

Online Competition Requirements

Designed for those unable to travel to the UK.

Pre-recorded Video

  • Deadline: 23 april 2027
  • Length: 2 to 5 minutes
  • Platform: YouTube link
  • Title: "IGO27 – [Reference Number]"
  • Content: Background, Hypothesis, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

Live Zoom Judging

  • Tech: Reliable internet, Mic, Webcam mandatory.
  • Visibility: All team members must be on screen.
  • Duration: 10 mins (15 for Short Films).
  • Flow: 3-min intro + Q&A.
  • Environment: Quiet, distraction-free, good lighting.
