We warmly welcome you to the online portion of the International Greenwich Olympiad. Please carefully review the following instructions to ensure a successful and enriching presentation experience.
Instructions for Online Event Participants
Date: 16th May 2026
Time: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM London Time (BST)
Platform: Zoom
Project Presentation
Your presentation has two key components, each designed to showcase your scientific understanding and communication skills:
1. Pre-recorded Presentation Video ( Deadline 30th April 2026)
Video Length: Target a duration of 2-5 minutes
Structure: Clearly articulate your project’s background research, hypothesis, materials, methods, results, and conclusions (if applicable to your category).
Delivery: Employ formal scientific language and terminology. Focus on accurate explanations and a logical flow of information.
Visuals: Consider using clear graphs, charts, or illustrations to support your findings.
Upload: Make your video public on YouTube and include the link when registering as a finalist project (2026 IGO Finalist Form).
Title: Format your video title as follows:
“IGO 2026 – IGO Reference Number”
e.g., IGO 2026 – IGO537383
2. Live Zoom Judging Session (16th May , 2026)
Preparation
Technology: Ensure a fast and reliable internet connection. Thoroughly test your computer’s microphone and camera beforehand. Keep both activated throughout the entire session, ensuring all students are visible on the screen.
Environment: Establish a distraction-free, quiet area with appropriate room lighting and minimal background noise.
Punctuality: Join the Zoom session 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
Zoom Meeting Information
Supervisors will receive an up-to-date schedule and Zoom meeting links via email and/or WhatsApp.
Schools with multiple participating teams must ensure that teams do not share the same computer or room, as their Zoom sessions may be scheduled simultaneously.
Joining Your Zoom Session
Confirm Your Time: Make sure you know the start time of your individual Zoom session. Please note that the entire program is set to London time (BST). Use one of the following websites to check London time, if needed:
Join Early: Join the Zoom session 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
Waiting Room: Upon joining, you will be automatically taken to the waiting room.
Confirmation: An IGO team member may contact you to confirm your presence in the waiting room.
3. Judging Session Procedure
Duration: Each session will last 10 minutes (15 minutes for short movies).
Introduction: You will have approximately 3 minutes to introduce your project.
Short Film (If Applicable): Your short film will be played on the screen, which you’ll be able to watch along with the judges.
Q&A: A Q&A session with the judges will follow, where they may ask detailed questions about your project.
