Present us with what you are passionate!

Use your camera and capture the subject you adore the most! Anything from a flower to a bridge, an ant to a historic structure, a flame to a sparkle, a car to a dinosaur in a museum, and so on. IGO offers you the chance to capture those visions and freeze them forever!

In addition to encouraging people to communicate their passions through photography, IGO wishes to motivate people to make everyone aware of the beauty that surrounds us. The goal of the competition is to promote the power of the photographic image.

The topics of this year’s IGO are

 

Photo Eligibility

  1. It can be in landscape or portrait mode.
  2. You can use device that takes still pictures, including smartphones and digital cameras, which create image data files, these can be medium and large digital cameras.
  3. Each participant is allowed to submit one image.
  4. You are required to send ZIP files when you apply.
  5. Both drone and terrestrial photography are acceptable.
  6. Hard copies are not acceptable.
Terms and conditions
  1. The participant must also submit a paragraph of between 150 to 200 words which explains the concept or idea.
  2. We only need a short title of no more than 50 characters, in English.
  3. Contestants’ photos must be their own original creations.
  4. The General Data Protection Regulation prohibits using photographs that include people’s faces*.
  5. Software-generated images are not permitted.
  6. Any form of adult content will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification.
  7. Processing such as cropping and modifications to improve exposure or colours, is allowed
  8. You can also use programmes such as Photoshop to alter and manipulate an image.

Photo Format

  1. 2000 pixels wide minimum resolution
  2. Colour or monochrome
  3. JPEG, PNG, PSD, or TIFF format
  4. Maximum file size: 10MB;

Evaluation Standards

The submitted works will be evaluated anonymously by a jury of at least ten (10) experts in the field of photography. In addition, IGO may conduct a pre-judging screening if there are numerous applications.

Entries will only be evaluated based on the following:

  • Originality: The creativity and the execution of skills in the work
  • The information content is measured by how well it conveys the idea or concept.
  • Artistic and Visual Impact: Appeal to the senses on a physical, mental, and emotional level

Copyright and publication rights

  • By participating in the IGO Photography Competition, each artist testifies to the ownership of all intellectual property rights in the submitted work as well as the receipt of prior written consent for the use of any third-party copyrighted materials.
  • The IGO Photography Competition may photograph and print the participant’s work for use in its catalogue, press releases, websites, and other promotional materials for the exhibition. All works continue to be protected by the artist’s copyright. Requests for copyright information will be directed to the artist.
 
How to submit / upload the photographs?
  • You are required to upload ZIP files (photographs) when you apply on our registration page.
  • Submit your original photograph making sure that the Exif file is included. For more information about the Exif File, please click here.
 

The organisation reserves the right to reject entries if they include any of the following:

  • They depict illegal acts, controversial political issues, defamation or other offensive content.
  • The works depict criminal activity and are subject to civil liability or violate the law.
  • The works depict or promote any products or services in a commercial manner.
  • The works show any abuse or cruelty to animals.
* A supporting document is necessary for each photo submitted if any person or people are visible in the image. This paperwork should clearly identify the individuals appearing in the photo by name. This helps us confirm that a signed permission form has been provided for each person. If there’s more than one person in the photo, it’s best to sketch a simple outline of each person and label them with their names to show where they are situated in the photo
