When we look around us with unbiased eyes, we witness the existence of hundreds of objects we love. Sometimes it is our family, sometimes the car we love, sometimes a butterfly flying by itself, sometimes a skyscraper disappearing in the depths of the sky. But when we human beings look with loving eyes, we see that everything that is the key to happiness is actually around us.

THE WORK

  • Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces are welcome in the competition.
  • The entry (the “Work”) that is submitted must be original and can be drawn or made. If it is a 2D piece, you can use any of the following materials: pencil, pen, pastel, charcoal, coloured pencils, acrylic or oil paints, chalk, Conte, oil pastel, gouache, graphite, ink, glass paint, watercolour or glitter.
  • If you want to submit a 3D piece, you can .. clay, wood, cardboard, plaster, wire, or any other materials.
  • Works in mixed media art, collage or print are also acceptable.
  • The art must be either A4 or A3 in size.
  • The artist must document the making of the piece by sending a minimum of 1 photo and 1 video whilst the work is being created.
  • The artist must also submit a paragraph of between 150 to 200 words which explains the concept or idea.
  • We only need a short title of no more than 50 characters, in English.
  • You don’t have to worry about shipping the artwork as you won’t be providing it physically.
  • The jury’s and the judge’s ruling is final.

Evaluation Standards

The submitted works will be evaluated anonymously by a jury of at least ten (10) experts in the field of art. In addition, IGO may conduct a pre-judging screening if there are numerous applications.

Entries will only be evaluated based on the following:

  • Originality: The creativity and the execution of skills in the work
  • The information content is measured by how well it conveys the idea or concept.

Copyright and publication rights

  • By participating in the IGO Art Competition, each artist testifies to the ownership of all intellectual property rights in the submitted work as well as the receipt of prior written consent for the use of any third-party copyrighted materials.
  • The IGO Art Competition may photograph and print the artist’s work for use in its catalogue, press releases, websites, and other promotional materials for the exhibition. All works continue to be protected by the artist’s copyright. Requests for copyright information will be directed to the artist.
 
How to submit / upload the art work?
  • You are required to upload the work when you apply on our registration page.
  • Please remember: The finalist competitors must bring their works to London for the exhibition. 
 

The organisation reserves the right to reject entries if they include any of the following:

  • They depict illegal acts, controversial political issues, defamation or other offensive content.
  • The works depict criminal activity and are subject to civil liability or violate the law.
  • The works depict or promote any products or services in a commercial manner.
  • The works show any abuse or cruelty to animals.

Judging Criteria

  • Concept and Originality Originality: Demonstrates original ideas and a unique perspective. Concept: Clear and well thought out. Innovation: Shows creative problem-solving and innovative thinking. 20
    Technique and Skill Technical Skill: Techniques are executed skillfully and proficiently. Use of Medium: Medium is used effectively and appropriately. Attention to Detail: High level of detail and precision. 20
    Composition and Design Composition: Balanced and visually appealing. Design Elements: Effective use of line, shape, colour, texture, and space. Visual Impact: Strong visual impression. 20
    Expression and Communication Emotional Impact: Evokes an emotional response. Message and Meaning: Conveys the message or meaning clearly. Engagement: Engages and holds the viewer’s attention. 20
    Presentation and Professionalism Presentation Quality: Presented in a professional and polished manner. Attention to Presentation: Effective use of framing, mounting, or other methods. Overall Professionalism: Demonstrates professionalism. 10
     Relevance to SDGs Art work connects meaningfully to one or more UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves to raise awareness, educate, or present a creative solution. 10
